Laser therapy can relieve pain, reduce swelling and increase range of motion. Because of this patients may exhibit renewed energy and freedom of movement.
A complete exam should be completed before the patient returns to full activity. A gradual introduction of activity may be suggested to ensure that the patient does not aggravate the existing condition.
During each painless treatment, laser energy increases circulation, drawing water, oxygen and nutrients to the damaged area. This creates an optimal healing environment that reduces inflammation, swelling, muscle spasms, stiffness and pain. Function is restored as the injured area returns to normal and pain is relieved.

Laser Therapy is also known as Photobiomodulation [PBM] Therapy. PBM is a form of light therapy based on the photochemical process called photobiomodulation [PBM].
During photobiomodulation [PBM] a light source is placed near or in contact with the skin. The light energy penetrates the skin reaching the mitochondria within body’s damaged or diseased tissue leading to PBM.
This process results in beneficial therapeutic outcomes such as the alleviation of pain, regulation of inflammation, immuno-modulation and the promotion of tissue regeneration.
